ICGN 2019 Global Stewardship Forum

Stewardship is a shared responsibility for companies and investors alike in their pursuit to preserve and enhance the long-term value of companies. ICGN’s first statement on investor stewardship, published in 2003, extends stewardship responsibilities beyond the activities of  monitoring, voting and engagement to address the internal governance arrangements of investor themselves. Today stewardship concepts are enshrined in national codes around the world and in regional regulation, most notably the EU Shareholder Rights Directive.

The ICGN Global Stewardship Forum will address the how these codes and rules are being implemented in practice, what ‘best in class’ looks like and how to enhance the quality of stewardship disclosures.
