This publication by KPMG is designed to be a wide-ranging guide to you as a director or policy maker to assist in remuneration planning at your company. Where possible they have broken down the data obtained from the FTSE 350 into groupings by market capitalisation and turnover, to increase the relevance to you.

Executive Remuneration has arguably become a signature issue in relation to the erosion of public trust in big business. The Government is currently considering reforms to the governance framework in respect of executive pay in an attempt to restore trust in this area. The directors’ remuneration report is the main medium through which executive pay is communicated to stakeholders and should be the focus for rebuilding trust. Voluntary improvements in disclosure of executive pay, through greater candour and transparency in the remuneration report, could forestall any further regulation in this area. This publication provides some ideas for enhancing executive remuneration disclosures to address the twin stakeholder concerns of lack of performance linkage and internal inequity.
