François Siegwart

François is currently Managing Partner at EMC Gestion de Fortune, an independent asset management company based in Geneva. He is also a member of several boards of directors, including an investment company in Luxembourg.

Before joining EMC in 2008, François was previously Director at Merrill Lynch where he held various managerial and leadership positions during 14 years, such as running Merrill Lynch Bank Suisse Fund Management in Switzerland, heading the bank’s discretionary portfolio management activities, managing investments for a large pension fund and being active in international investment strategy committees for years. He received two Standard & Poor’s Awards for investment fund performances. In the early nineties, he was appointed member of the Shareholders’ Communication Committee of the industrial group Air Liquide in Paris. François started his career as an equity investment analyst in 1989 at Swiss Bank Corporation’s headquarters in Basel (now UBS).

François is an FT Non-Executive Director Diploma graduate. He holds an MSc in Management from HEC Business School, University of Lausanne. He also studied at London School of Economics and at SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan (EMP Program).

Passionate about investment management, corporate governance, board leadership and effectiveness, François is particularly sensitive towards corporate responsibility issues. He is a member of the Swiss Institute of Directors and the Swiss Board Forum.
