A message from the Publisher

Welcome to the new face of Governance Publishing. We aim to provide an enhanced experience in the realm of corporate governance.

We begin this message by honouring one of the giants and founding fathers of corporate governance, Ira M. Millstein, who sadly passed away in March 2024. As Ira aptly stated, ‘At its highest and broadest level corporate governance is concerned with holding the balance between economic and social goals, and between individual and communal goals. It encourages the efficient use of resources, and equally requires accountability for the stewardship of those resources.’ At Governance Publishing, we hold firm to these principles, emphasising the mutual responsibility of companies and investors to preserve and enhance long-term corporate value.

Our belief is that governance goes beyond mere compliance; it is about embracing best practices to unlock the 'governance premium' across organisations of all sizes. Whether you seek a broad overview or a deep dive into governance matters, our resources cater to your needs.

Explore our free resources for updates on governance or subscribe to our full Governance journal for deeper analysis. We encourage you to interact with our content, contribute to articles, and join our community committed to enhancing governance conversations. Whether you seek to stay informed about governance at a broader level with our complimentary resources or desire a deeper dive through subscribing to our comprehensive Governance journal and service, we trust you'll find this platform valuable and thought-provoking.

About Governance Publishing

For over 25 years Governance has been the leading source of information about corporate governance world-wide. In addition to authoritative and informative articles written especially for us by some of the leading thinkers and practitioners in corporate governance, we have also collected together items of interest from a variety of sources to provide a comprehensive resource of governance related information and events, all in one place.

Governance is totally independent. We have no axe to grind on behalf of the issuers or the investors. We try to include articles of interest to all aspects of the governance community.

The people who read Governance already have an in-depth knowledge of governance in their own marketplace. They read it to keep up to date with governance developments globally and to read opinion pieces from some of the foremost commentators in the world. They are interested in governance at a strategic rather than an operational level. There is no ‘box-ticking’ mentality here. They want to know the latest thinking on how good governance can add value to the companies they run, invest in or advise, particularly any practical examples and experiences of governance successes.
