Claire Fargeot

Claire Fargeot is a strategic consultant, board director, mentor, trainer, author, and part-time lecturer. She brings a wealth of governance, sustainability, and board practice, as well as learning and development experience for directors in the listed, private, charitable, state owned and mutual enterprise sectors.

As a specialist in governance, strategy, sustainability and reporting, Claire regularly works with all types of organisations to find solutions to challenges and enhance value. With more than 25 years of practical experience in the capital markets she has gained extensive skills in developing strategic programmes for companies with governance, sustainability, and business performance issues. She regularly mentors board members, conducts effectiveness reviews as well as working as an agent for change to deliver transformational solutions to governance and sustainability driven challenges.

Claire is a regular faculty trainer for the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Academies, fulfilling many bespoke governance and reporting upskilling projects, as well as capital markets development programmes for overseas exchanges in developing economies around the globe. She has been instrumental in the development and roll-out of the London Stock Exchange advisory services including the ELITE programme which offers a unique blend of business learning and development support and a capital raising ecosystem.

Prior to founding her consultancy, Claire worked as Head of Standards and Financial Market Integrity for EMEA at the CFA Institute, a global, not-for-profit organisation comprising the world’s largest association of investment professionals. With over 130,000 members, and regional societies around the world, the institute is dedicated to developing and promoting the highest educational, ethical, and professional standards in the investment industry.

Claire is a part-time doctoral researcher, preparing her thesis in Directors’ Behaviours and Actions at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, Strathclyde Business School and is a published author in governance related topics.
